In the land of "Gods & Monsters," Lana Del Rey was an untouchable forest nymph.
The Coachella headliner stunned in a cream, tree-inspired gown by Alexander McQueen, complete with a tulle and twig-based headdress.
"Well, first of all, we needed to make it McQueen, so the shape is McQueen. And we would never do butterflies, not for this," the singer told USA TODAY of her look.
The songwriter's corseted dress was overlaid with a bouquet of hand-embroidered bronze hammered bullion hawthorn branches, which culminated in the handmade headpiece that held up the ethereal veil.
The custom-made ensemble, by Alexander McQueen Creative Director Seán McGirr, was completed with Hoof boots.

The look referenced archival McQueen and was inspired by the work of sculptor Alberto Giacometti, the fashion house said on Instagram.
Rey's last Met Gala appearance was in 2018, in a similarly extravagant white embellished Gucci gown and winged crown for the theme "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination." The "Video Games" singer dressed as a pair with Jared Leto in a coordinating blue Gucci tuxedo, pale pink shirt and gold floral crown.
Rey wasn't the only star to wear custom McQueen to the Met.

Usher gave us a caped crusader look on the green and white carpet, wearing a black tuxedo jacket, trousers and cape with dipped rose ornamental needlework detail. He paired the look, also designed by McGirr, with a black fedora.
Speaking with USA TODAY on the carpet, the Grammy-winning hitmaker described the outfit as "exotic, romantic but still within the garden theme."

Last year, the "Love in this Club" crooner stepped out at the Met Gala wearing a look created by Bianca Saunders: a black suit, black sunglasses, leather gloves and a cream tie paired with a glimmering tie knot broach in honor of the 2023 theme, which paid tribute to the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
