Jason Tartick is not keeping his heartbreak a secret.
After he and Kaitlyn Bristowe confirmed they had called off their engagement, the Bachelorette alum penned a short message sharing how he's been doing.
"Thank you for the support and love over the years," Jason began in a trio of Aug. 6 Instagram Stories posts featuring him and Kaitlyn. "I will forever be grateful for this beautiful person that was brought into my life. Beyond heart broken. Please be kind as we go through our individual journeys to heal."
The following day, in lieu of sharing financial news in the intro to the Aug. 7 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast—which was recorded on Aug. 6—Jason briefly addressed his and Kaitlyn's breakup. Noting that it took him multiple tries to record because the first attempt "did not go well," he suggested that he will eventually open up about the split.
"It's been a bit of a challenge today and tonight," he shared, "and when I'm prepared and feeling ready to talk through how these things also impact my life and what's next for me, I will share those as I always try to hold my standard to share specifically what I ask of my guests."
Jason shared a lengthy joint statement from him and Kaitlyn on Instagram Aug. 6 confirming that he and the Off the Vine podcast host had parted ways after four years.
"After sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement," the former couple wrote. "We are thankful for all of you who gave us the time and space to process this life altering decision as there are many emotions and changes to navigate."
The pair—who first began dating in 2019 after Jason appeared on Kaitlyn's podcast before getting engaged in 2021—shared that they'll continue to co-parent their dogs Ramen and Pinot while also making it clear that there is no animosity following their split.
"Continuing our friendship is incredibly important to both of us," they continued in their note. "We feel grateful to be ending our engagement with love and respect for each other. It's heartbreaking and sad to say goodbye, but our care and admiration for one another will never die."
As for Kaitlyn, she shared that she was taking a step back from social media while she heals.
"See you soon. Bye for now," the former Dancing With the Stars champion wrote on her Instagram Stories Aug. 6. "If everyone can say some sort of prayer for both of our hearts we would love that. I just know social media can be awful so taking a little break."
